KIA we're a mercenary corp that turned into our allies. They briefly occupied Period Basis before disbanding.

KIA Alliance was an outgrowth of KIA Corp. KIA Corp was famous mercenary corporation that also held space in 0.0. In an effort to get back in the mercenary buisiness KIA Corp formed KIA Alliance for standings purposes. As mercenaries Goonswarm had frequent, positive dealings with KIA. They ran two two-week contacts with Goonfleet in the South, cockfagging in Scalding Pass and Wicked Creek and providing Dreadnaught support.

KIA was part of Tortuga, but unlike the rest of Tortuga KIA actually showed up for ops and worked hard to defeat BoB during the first Goon invasion of Delve. Following the failure of the first invasion of Delve, KIA moved to Geminate where they maintained a positive relationship with Goonswarm. During BoB's MAX campaign in the North KIA fought both BoB and Triumvirate. Alongside Goonswarm's second invasion of Delve they fought a campaign in Period Basis to kill Executive Outcomes. Following their victory moved into the two southernmost constellations in Period Basis.

However KIA suffered from reputation problems. They were mocked for being poor pvpers, primarily due to a series of embarrassing losses of capfleets. Furthermore, when they went from being a mercenary group to a run-of-the-mill space-holding alliance they lost some of their identity. In late 2009 their leader KIAeddz announced KIA's constituent corps were splitting up.
