Eris
Name: Eris

Hull: Catalyst

Role: Interdictor

Interdictors are destroyer-sized vessels built to fill a single important tactical niche: the breaching of enemy warp tunnels. Capable of launching warp-disrupting interdiction spheres, interdictors are of great value in locations of strategic importance where enemy movement must be restricted. Additionally, much like their destroyer-class progenitors, they are well-suited to offensive strikes against frigate-sized craft.

Developer: Roden Shipyards

Unlike most Gallente ship manufacturers, Roden Shipyards tend to favor missiles over drones and their ships generally possess stronger armor. Their electronics capacity, however, tends to be weaker than that of their competitors'.

[edit] Overview

The Eris is a Gallente Interdictor.

Rumored, and all but confirmed in some interviews, to be named after Eris Discordia -- now a CCP employee. The very fact that the ship is painted pink should be enough though.

The ship is nearly worthless in a solo capacity compared to a Flycatcher, however for fleet dictors they're faster (due to four lowslots) and a hell of a lot cheaper to lose (around 30m a pop at empire prices). If you want a cheap fleet dictor and don't feel like training another Racial Frigate V, the Eris is a good choice.

If you want to fly this thing solo (please don't) you're going to have to train up for T2 missiles, but if you're going to do that why the hell aren't you in a Flycatcher?

Excellent at spotting cloaked ships (not really) due to the presence of its searchlight. A feature limited to the Eris class of ships.

[edit] Bonuses

  • Destroyer Skill Bonus: 10% bonus to Small Hybrid Turret falloff and 10% bonus to Small Hybrid Turret tracking speed per level
  • Interdictors Skill Bonus: 5% bonus to Rocket and Light Missile thermal damage and 10% bonus to Interdiction Sphere Launcher rate of fire per level

[edit] Fittings

Hey you!
Interested in getting paid for dying horribly for the Swarm?
Regretting that you have but one ship to lose for your space empire?
The Eris hull is elligible for reimbursement without a fully standardized fitting, but the following fitting is highly recommended.

[edit] Standard Fleet Cloaking Eris

Highs
4x 'Malkuth' Standard Launchers w/ Flameburst
1x Interdiction Sphere Launcher
1x Prototype Cloak
Meds
1x 1MN Microwarpdrive I
1x Medium F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction
Lows
2x Nanofiber Internal Structure II
1x Overdrive Injector System II
1x Inertia Stabilizer II
Drones
1x Warrior II / Armor Rep Bot

ALWAYS FIT A CLOAK ON YOUR FLEET DICTORS. Seriously, if you don't fit a cloak on a fleet dictor, you're a fucking idiot. This lets you warp in, bubble, pulse mwd away and cloak. Then 2 minutes later when your bubble expires you can decloak and bubble again, and if the fight is raging you'll probably be able to cloak and do it all again. If you don't fit a fucking cloak you'll get blown up in two seconds as everyone shoots dictors that are on top of their fleet.

[edit] Double Bubble Eris

Highs
2x Interdiction Sphere Launcher
1x Prototype Cloak
5x empty, you could fit some offline salvagers or cynos or reps or whatever
Meds
1x 1MN Microwarpdrive I
1x Medium Shield Extender II
Lows
2x Co-Processor II
2x Nanofiber Internal Structure II
Rigs
2x Small Auxiliary Thrusters I (or CDFEs)

Pretty disposable double bubble dictor. The rigs are strictly optional, dictors tend to die a lot, but they're really cheap (about the same price as the T2 mods) and make you slightly more likely to survive multiple bubbling runs.
