Atlas are ex-Knights of the Southerncross. They are a large alliance of failures who are well on their way to being the first alliance to get kicked out of every region in the game. Their leader is a scrawny little guy with a unibrow called Bobby Atlas who looks like a monkey. They are currently based out of Omist and are currently capturing our old abandoned space in eastern Detorid.
[edit] History aka Atlas's Many Failures
Knights of the Southerncross were driven out of Insmother by our invasion. KOS were then driven out of western-Tenferis by Against ALL Authorities in one of the most rapid conquests in Eve history. Founded from KOS corps, Atlas then went to the drone regions where they fought and failed with SMASH et al. After regrouping in Empire, they moved to Stain where they formed an coalition called Stain-wagon with Stain Empire and C0VEN. We preferred calling it COATSE, named after its members and the Patron Saint of Cavernous Rectums.
With COATSE, Atlas conducted a rather pleasant campaign of harassment against our Esoteria holdings, but were driven off. This campaign saw the destruction of Atlas's dread fleet. However, Bobby Atlas was not deterred by our smacking in local following the victory, he replied "we've lost far more than that in a single day." They then left COATSE and tried to take space in Geminate with Triumvirate who were invading Vale of the Silent at the time. But predictably, they were quickly beaten and kicked out by the Northern Coalition, KIA, Ethereal Dawn, and Intrepid Crossing.
After regrouping in Empire, they based out of Curse, specifically the XX9 system in support of the BoB invasion of old-Goonspace. Atlas lost many BS fleets and POSs during this campaign. According to the leaked BoB forums, Bobby Atlas was begging BoB for space in Querious to rat out of because they were pretty poor by this point.
After Goonswarm pulled out of the south-east Atlas moved in to claim space in Omist from UNL. UNL put up a good defense but couldn't hold out against the combined forces Atlas AAA, ROL, Stain Empire, C0VEN, and Systematic Chaos who managed to wrest away UNL's southern holding. Thus, Atlas finally acquired some space. Of course they were only able to do so because they chose to fight UNL rather than help their KenZoku buddies survive. At the key battles of J-L in Delve, Atlas were conspicuously nowhere to be found.
[edit] Atlas, revamped
Much like their former friends Aggression., Atlas has become bloated with corporations from many failed alliances, including IRON and several ex-BoB pets. While in the past bloating in such a manner has not helped others, Atlas are now a force to reckon and could give us a challenge when we start to steamroll into Detorid again(lololol whoever thought this was a fucking idiot).
Unfortunately, within weeks of the counterattack in the drone regions, several of their allies promptly imploded. Ethereal Dawn and Intrepid Crossing are well on their way to being swiftly evicted from the drone regions, Aggression. imploded under internal drama, and Sc0rched Earth and Veritas Immortalis are showing signs of implosion as well.
