The Angel Cartel is a NPC pirate alliance operating in Minmatar space. They fly Minmatar ships, with a focus on shield tanking, and equal use of projectile weapons and missiles. Angels give out Halo implants, which decrease your sig radius, if you do their missions.
They deal a mix of explosive, thermal and kinetic damage. Which of these damage types to harden against depends on which weapon you are getting hit more by. The high end BSes do EM damage, but you will only need to worry about that if the security of the system you're ratting in is below -0.7.
If you take more damage from projectile weapons - which is going to be the case if you fly a battleship - harden mostly against explosive, and a bit against thermal and kinetic. If you take most of the damage from missiles - for instance when orbiting battleships to fuck up their tracking - harden against explosive only.

The following rats use artillery instead of autocannons, stay at high range and will kite short range battleships. They should be approached fast and need to be webbed.

Most angel types of cruiser size and larger use defender missiles, which makes kiting them a pain. With reasonable missile skills the defenders won't have time to shoot your missiles down if you are closer than 8k, so if you are having a hard time breaking the tank of a given spawn with a Caldari ship, moving in close will increase your dps by 10-20%. Note, you will likely take more damage by doing this, so be wary if your tank is already having problems.
Faction Angel Spawns
Faction spawns consist of one special ship and an escort of regular pirates. The special ship will have a slightly different name. i.e. instead of "Angel" it will be called "Domination". The special ship usually has a bounty thats about 15 times as high as would be appropriate for their class, has better weapons and overall stats,. They can drop special modules that are almost as good as Tech 2 modules but have way lower skill requirements as well as blueprints for pirate ships that sell for 10-50m.
