[edit] Overview
The Rorqual is the ORE Capital that was added with Revelations 2.2. In addition to a 40,000 m3 cargo bay, it has a 30,000 m3 Corporate Hanger, 250,000m3 Ore Bay and a 1,000,000 m3 Ship Maintenance Bay.
Please note that the Ship Maintenance Bay can only hold Industrial ships, Mining barges, Transports and Exhumers.
The Rorqual also features the ability to compress ore and Ice by a factor of about 20, thereby enabling mining operations in non-station systems. It also has a set of mining-related gang links, and It may also fit a capital tractor beam that can drag cans from 200km at 3km/s.
Aside from ore and ice compression (Psim's note: Don't compress Ice with the Rorqual. It takes a lot longer than rock ore and is usually worth just going the long way to the station in hauler chains), the Rorqual is best suited for smaller scale logistics, such as personal logistics (if you're rich) or production. Jump Freighters feature more storage space, but their prohibitive cost - Between three and four times the cost of the Rorqual - means that only the most dedicated logistics people can ever hope to afford them, making the Rorqual a better choice for the average person looking for a logistics-class capital ship.
Zastrow, leader of GoonSwarm Offensive Logistics, loses one or more of these ships every time we invade a system.
Jump Freighter pilots will envy your cloak. Rub it in...hard.

[edit] Bonuses
- -5% reduction in fuel consumption for industrial cores per level
- 5% bonus to mining foreman gang links per level while deployed
- 50% bonus to range of capital shield transporters per level
- 20% bonus to drone damage and hitpoints per level
- 99% CPU reduction for clone vat bay
- 99% CPU reduction for gang link modules
- 99% CPU reduction for industrial reconfiguration modules
- 99% CPU reduction for tractor beams
[edit] Skill Plan
It is extremely important to note that one of the last things you should train before buying your Rorqual is Capital Industrial Ships. There are capital level support skills you want to focus on first such as:
- Advanced Spaceship Command to V
- Jump Drive Operation to V
- Jump Fuel Conservation to IV
- Arkonor Processing to IV
- Bistot Processing to IV
- Crokite Processing to IV
- Mining Director to IV
- Graviton Physics to IV
- Wing Command to at least II
- Advanced Mass Production to IV
- Scout Drone Operation to V
- Minmatar Drone Specialization to II
- Gallente Drone Specialization to II
- Tactical Shield Manipulation to IV
- Shield Operation to V
- Shield Management to V
- Capital Shield Operation to II
Highly Recommended
- Industrial Reconfiguration to II but IV would be nice
- Jump Drive Calibration to IV
There are other support skills as well that would be helpful, but without these you've got a defenseless, short range, useless 1.4 - 1.7b hunk o junk.
[edit] Logistics Skill Plan
It is extremely important to note that one of the last things you should train before buying your Rorqual is Capital Industrial Ships. Dedicated logistics folks don't really need the mining & leadership skills, but you may find yourself wishing you had them when the cool kids go on big mining ops.

- Jump Drive Operation to V
- Jump Fuel Conservation to IV
- Jump Drive Calibration to IV
- Advanced Mass Production to IV
- Scout Drone Operation to V

- 1x Capital Tractor Beam I
- 1x Mining Foreman Link - Harvester Capacitor Efficiency
- 1x Mining Foreman Link - Laser Optimization
- 1x Mining Foreman Link - Mining Laser Field Enhancement
- 1x Clone Vat Bay I or a cloak (no one will seriously need a clone vat bay over the protection a cloak affords)

- 1x Cargohold Optimization II
- 2x Cargohold Optimization I
125,787m3 cargohold, so you can fit 4 blocks at a time in the processing lines. I think this will be the standard setup.
For Logistics work, the best ship selection for the maintenance bay is 2x Iteron Mk 5, 1 Mackinaw, and 1 Skiff.
It's actually 131,573m3 with this setup - Phil Miller
[edit] Hauling Rorqual
- High
- 2x Heavy Energy Neut
- 2x Large Smartbomb
- 1x Capital remote armor/shield repper
- 1x Cloak
- Mids
- 6x Cap Recharger II
- 1x Invulnerability Field II
- Lows
- 3x Expanded Cargohold II
- Rigs
- 3x Cargohold Optimization I
126,090m3 cargohold, little or no tank dont get caught. This is not a combat ship, unless your name is Zastrow. Same range/fuel usage as a dread.
[edit] Zastrow's Grave Combat Rorqual
- High
- Who really cares? You'll want a balance of neuts, smartbombs, and a cloak obviously.
- Mids
- 1x Capital Shield Booster I

- 2x Invulnerability Field II
- 2x Shield Boost Amplifier II
- 1x Cap Recharger II
- Lows
- 3x Power Diagnostic System II
- Rigs
- 3x Capacitor Control Circuit I
tanks a bit over 4k. Not really super impressive for a capital shield tank, but certainly more survivable than full-cargo ships. Still plenty of room to drop, stront, and harden a few towers.

- (xttz)
- Drones
- A combination of ECM, T2 light and T2 Meds for shaking off tacklers
- Remember not to fire smartbombs when using them...
when I tackled I turn on my tank and scream for help and pop a cyno for carriers. It's saved me twice
- hugs and kisses
